Ireland’s Jessica Kurten was just over a second short of Snatching the €40,000 first prize at the rich Paris Grand Prix on Sunday, but a third place on the 10-year-old bay mare ‘Castle Forbes Libertina’ netted her €19,000.
A very tight finish left French rider Florian Angot with the winner's
laurels, and Olympic champion, Brazil's Rodrigo Pessoa, with the
runner-up prize of €25,000.
Only eight competitors qualified for the jump-off, and only Angot,
Pessoa and Kurten managed a clear round second time out, with Pessoa just under a second faster than Kurten, and a tenth of a second slower than the French winner.
Earlier today, the 37 year-old Irish rider took a ninth place in the Accumulator class with ‘Castle Forbes Vivaldo’.
