The Equestrian Federation of Ireland has withdrawn international status from next month's three-day show at Cavan Equestrian Centre after the organisers refused to rescind a ban imposed on two Irish riders.

Cian O'Connor and Clement MacMahon were both banned from competing at Cavan after a dispute over ground conditions at the September show.

However, despite negotiations this week, the Cavan organisers have refused to back down and allow the two riders to jump at the 8-10 November fixture.

The withdrawal of official international status from the Cavan show came about after consultation between the Irish Federation and the sports international governing body, the Lausanne-based international Equestrian Federation.
