Ireland’s Cian O'Connor shared a Puissance win on his distinctive 14 year-old grey gelding ‘Casper’ at the Horse Of the Year in
Birmingham, England last night.

Casper, who won the Dublin Horse Show Puissance for O'Connor in both 2002 and 2006, cleared the wall in five jump-offs, as did Britain's Robert Whitaker on ‘Finbarr V’ and Ben Maher with ‘Eperlan du Fouquet’.

The three riders decided not to go for the sixth round and instead shared the first place prize money.

Earlier, 26 year-old Meath-based O'Connor took an eighth place at the three-star English show in the 1m55 jump-off class with ‘Markopoulo’.

He was also fifth with ‘Zanoubia’ in the afternoon's 1m45 speed class.
