With a series of equal firsts and seconds to his credit since his historic Puissance win in 2002, Kildare-born Cian O'Connor brought the grey gelding Casper back into the main arena at Dublin Horse Show today (Saturday) to once again claim the winner's laurels outright.

With a talented international field of ten riders starting the
competition, only O'Connor and Germany's Rene Tebbel were left in contention after four rounds.

But after jumping a height of 2m19, Tebbel conceded victory to O'Connor by electing not to jump again.

O'Connor, though by now the victor, took Casper out for one more round, in an attempt to break the Dublin Puissance record by jumping 2m31. However, Casper clipped the white coping at the top of the wall to register four faults, and O'Connor had to forgo the extra E1,000 prize money that would have come his way if a new Dublin record had been set.
