Ireland struggle in Blenheim

Ireland remains in eighth place at the European three-day event championships in Blenheim, England.

The dressage phase has finished and Team Ireland's score of 166.3 penalties leaves them some way off the medals. 

With tomorrow's cross-country and the show jumping on Sunday, there are hopes of an upward move.

The Germans have a 12-penalty advantage over the British, with the French a further 7.2 adrift in third. 

Bettina Hoy held onto her overnight lead in the individual standings.
