Carey pipped twice in France

Outright victory again eluded Ireland's Capt. Shane Carey in Vichy, France yesterday when he piloted the 15 year-old gelding 'Lismakin' into second place in the 1m45 competition.

He finished second after a tussle for the top spot with French stars Michel Robert, who finished third, and Reynald Angot, who won the class.

Ireland's Harry Marshall took sixth place in the competition with 'all Shook Up>, followed closely by Corkman Robert Splaine and 'Clarion Hotel Coolcorron Cool Diamond' in seventh.

Earlier in the day, Carey scored another second place, this time with 'Laughton's Lass', in the 1m35 class.
