Current world champion Dermott Lennon took second place last night in the Titanic Quarter Winning Round competition at Belfast International Horse Show in the Odyssey arena.
Co Down man Lennon was riding the 14-year-old gelding Impact, and finished under a second behind class winner, Franke Sloothak of Germany.
Clem McMahon from Clones was fourth in the Titanic Quarter competition with Hermes de Reve, while Kilkenny's Marion Hughes slotted Heritage Transmission into sixth.
Marie Burke from Co Clare completed the Irish top ten contingent with an eighth place on Chippison.
Cian O'Connor was the best of the Irish in the second competition of the day.
Captain Shane Carey finished two places behind him.
Riding his seven-year-old Irish-bred mare Echo Beach, 25-year-old O'Connor had the fastest time in the class, but one fence down relegated him to fifth position, while Carey, riding Lismakin, also picked up four faults to take seventh place.
The competition was won by Austria's Gerfried Puck.
O'Connor was also the best of the Irish in the opening competition.
Riding his newly purchased nine-year-old Dutch-bred mare Night Dancer, Meath-based O'Connor was just under a second behind class winner, Britain's Tim Stockdale, in the two-phase Equestrian Promotions Welcome Stakes.
Tenth in the same competition was Ireland's Billy Twomey, with Whinnie Jackson.
The show continues until Sunday.
