Dermott Lennon, whose clear round on Friday secured the gold for Ireland in the Team European Championships, has failed today to win a medal in the Individual event. The 32-year-old from Co. Down ran up a total of 10 faults - eight jumping and two time faults to finish 11th in the Audi Grand Prix on board Liscalgot.
Combined with his score for days one and two of the championships, today's performance leaves Lennon with a total of 19.10 penalty points, dropping him down the leaderboard from his overnight position of third to sixth overall.
The 1997 champion Ludger Beerbaum of Germany won the European Show Jumping Champion title with Belgian Ludo Philippaerts taking the silver medal and Sweden's Rolf-Goran Bengtsson the bronze.
