Keane Barry's hopes of another good finish at the UK Open were ended by a brilliant Gerwyn Price fightback but Josh Rock has advanced to Sunday’s quarter-final in Minehead.

For so long it looked like Meath’s Barry, a former semi-finalist in the 'FA Cup of darts', would be joining him there, but Price rattled off six legs without reply to win 10-9.

Rock, meanwhile, was a 10-7 winner against Stephen Bunting with Daryl Gurney losing out 10-6 to Rob Cross.

Luke Littler saw off Gary Anderson 10-5 to continue his title defence.

The two-time world champion had survived a scare to see off Kevin Doets during Saturday’s afternoon session, but raced into a 4-1 lead in his evening match.

Anderson – who beat Martin Schindler to make the sixth-round draw – threatened a rally when he pinched the seventh leg against the darts, but Littler soon hit back to lead 7-3 at the next interval.

Littler maintained his momentum following the restart with more heavy scoring to take the match away from Anderson – who was eventually dispatched when the world number one pinned tops in the 16th leg, finishing with a 101 average.

In Saturday afternoon’s round five early session, Barry had seen off world no. 25 Ryan Joyce 10-7 while Gurney was a 10-8 victor over Ross Smith. Rock, meanwhile, got the better of Dominik Gruellich on a 10-7 scoreline.
