James Wade beat Nathan Aspinall 8-6 to win the final of the Players Championship One event in Germany.
The first 2026 PDC ProTour competition in Hildesheim had seen Wade edge out Michael van Gerwen – who claimed the opening-night Premier League win in Newcastle last week – in a last-leg decider which he clinched with a 104 checkout to book his spot in the final.
Aspinall, meanwhile, had earlier seen off Beau Greaves – on her first day as a PDC tour card holder – with a 6-2 win in the last 16 and then ended the hopes of Adam Gawlas in the semi-final to set up a showdown with Wade, who landed five 180s as he closed out victory.
Earlier in the event, Mickey Mansell hit the first nine-darter of the new Pro Tour season in his second-round win over Carl Sneyd.
