Wesley Plaisier survived six match darts to claim a maiden senior PDC title at the Players Championship 28 in Wigan on Wednesday.
Dutchman Plaisier navigated his way past Matt Campbell, Ritchie Edhouse, Florian Hempel, Krzysztof Ratajski, Jose de Sousa and Danny Noppert to set up a final with Josh Rock.
A nip and tuck battle followed and after Rock spurned six match darts, Plaisier wrapped up an 8-7 victory to become the fourth player to win a Pro Tour title without a PDC Tour card.
