Gary Anderson powered his way to victory over Connor Scutt in the final of the Players Championship 22.
The 53-year-old Scot saw off his English rival 8-4 to cap a good day's work as the lifted his second Players Championship title of the year.
Anderson, who was returning from a break of almost two months, was a happy man after recording five 100-plus three-dart averages on his way to the title in Leicester.
Speaking on stage afterwards, he said: "I just turn up and play. The only way I can describe it is I've got no pressure. I turn up, play darts.
"If I lose, it's great, I get to go home; if I win, even better, we're still playing. Turn up and play.
"You can be playing the best darts of your life, you come up against somebody that's going to batter you 6-0. It doesn't do much for the confidence, does it? So if you turn up not expecting much and it carries on for you, then it gives you a wee boost."
Anderson had earlier powered his way into a third Players Championship final of 2024 with a 7-4 victory over world number 18 James Wade, averaging 107.76 as he did so.
Scutt, who does not hold a tour card, joined him in arguably even more impressive fashion, hitting six maximums and a 170 check-out on his way to a 7-3 win over Dutchman Christian Kist.
Anderson had dispensed with world number eight Jonny Clayton 6-3 in the last eight, while Scutt beat Latvian Madars Razma by the same score.
