Fallon Sherrock defeats Martijn Kleermaker at Grand Slam of Darts

Fallon Sherrock kept her hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the Grand Slam of Darts alive with a tight win over Martijn Kleermaker on Sunday.

The PDC Women's Series winner, who was beaten 5-1 by Michael van Gerwen in her Group G opener, edged out Dutchman Kleermaker 5-4 in Wolverhampton.

Van Gerwen secured his place in the next round as he won a thriller against Rob Cross 5-4 in the final leg.

Defending champion and world number one Michael Smith went through as he came from 3-2 down to beat Krzysztof Ratajski 5-4.

Peter Wright recovered from his opening-day loss to Stowe Buntz by winning his eagerly-anticipated clash with Dave Chisnall 5-4.

Gerwyn Price, Nathan Aspinall and Josh Rock all secured progress with comfortable wins while teenager Beau Greaves kept herself in contention with an impressive 5-1 win over Ricardo Pietreczko.
