The two remaining Irish players at the World Darts Championships have learned their post-Christmas schedule.

Number 30 seed Brendan Dolan, who saw off the challenge of Japan's Edward Foulkes in the second round, faces tournament second favourite Gerwyn Price on Monday 28 December in a first-to-four-sets clash.

"This is a different kettle of fish," the Fermanagh man told the PDC when asked about his match with the Welsh man, whom he has beaten on the European Tour.

"I know I can beat him. If I have the right attitude and if I get the tempo of the first dart [right], which I haven’t done against him before, I know I can beat anyone."

That game is the second tie of the evening session, which is scheduled for a 6pm start.

World number 11 Daryl Gurney, who beat Willie O’Connor in his opening game, takes on 23rd seed Chris Dobey, from England, on Tuesday in the second game of the afternoon session, which begins at 12 midday.

The Derry man, who has two major PDC titles to his name, brushed off a recent dip in form to beat the Limerick native 3-2.

"I have been awful recently by my own standards. I knew it would be a tough game so I'm pleased to get through it," he said.

With uncertainty surrounding access to restricted areas over Christmas, most players who have made it to the last 32 have opted to remain in England, including Dolan.

"Staying in London for Christmas to eliminate travel," he wrote on Twitter.

World number one Michael van Gerwen takes on England’s Ricky Evans, who beat Tyrone’s Mickey Mansell, while defending champion Peter Wright faces Germany’s Gabriel Clemens, with both match on Sunday evening at Alexandra Palace.
