Tyrone's Mickey Mansell bowed out of the World Darts Championship as he lost 3-1 to Ricky Evans at Alexandra Palace.
Mansell, ranked 59, who was appearing in the second round for the first time, won the opening set against the throw but Evans soon found his rhythm and reeled off six of the next seven legs to establish a 2-1 lead.
The Englishman, known as 'Rapid' and ranked 32 on the PDC's order of merit, wrapped up the game with a 3-1 win in the fourth set.
Mansell hit three 180s to Evans' six and hit five of 19 shots at double, while the Kettering thrower landed 10 of 20.
He will face world number one and tournament favourite Michael van Gerwen in the third round.
Daryl Gurney and Brendan Dolan are the two remaining Irish players at the event, which takes a break after today's sessions until 27 December.
