Vincent Van Der Voort came from two sets down to beat fellow Dutchman Ron Meulenkamp in a last-leg decider at the William Hill PDC World Championship at Alexandra Palace.

The popular 27th seed seemed poised for an early exit as a 144 checkout helped Meulenkamp establish a 2-0 lead but Van der Voort won six of the next seven legs to level proceedings.

All five legs in the decider went with the throw, allowing Van Der Voort to move into the third round where he awaits the winner of sixth seed Nathan Aspinall's clash against Scott Waites.

"I've been keeping fit and I'm in a better position physically than I have been for a few years," Van der Voort said.

"My form is there and I need to make sure I am mentally prepared as well because this is my best chance of doing well in a long time."

Wales' Jonny Clayton, seeded 17th, defeated Scotland's John Henderson while Jeffrey de Zwaan, the 23rd seed, was eliminated after a comprehensive 3-0 defeat by Ryan Searle.

Jason Lowe was among the first-round winners, the Englishman setting up a clash with fourth seed Michael Smith after a 3-1 win over Russia's Dmitriy Gorbunov.

Keegan Brown thrashed English compatriot Ryan Meikle 3-0 and will face eighth seed Dave Chisnall next.
