Premier League confirms new darts dates

The Marshall Arena will host four more nights of Premier League action after events planned for Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield were cancelled, the Professional Darts Corporation has announced.

The tournament, which was halted in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, will resume at the venue in Milton Keynes with six consecutive nights from 25-30 August.

It was then due to go on the road for the remaining four nights of the regular season, but those plans were shelved and will now take place at the Marshall Arena from 3-6 September.

Should the play-offs not be able to take place at the O2 Arena in London on 22 October in front of a live crowd, then another night of action will be added to the schedule in Milton Keynes on 2 September, with the finals taking place on 6 September.

PDC chief executive Matt Porter said: "We have continued to work with all relevant parties in recent weeks in a bid to stage these four Unibet Premier League nights with a crowd. As we are still not able to guarantee this and bearing in mind the need to provide clarity for fans with tickets to these events, we will now be staging a further four nights behind closed doors in Milton Keynes.

"We are continuing to work with the O2 in a bid to end the season in style with the play-offs in front of a live crowd on Thursday 22 October if practicable, with the option of adding a further night in September in Milton Keynes available should this not be possible."
