Fermanagh's Brendan Dolan finished as runner-up in the PDC's Player Championship 7 in Barnsley today.

Despite the mass cancellations of sport across Europe, the Pro Tour event went ahead and Dolan was only denied overall victory by a world number 7 Nathan Aspinall in the final, with the 2019 UK Open champion winning 8-4.

Belcoo man Dolan is ranked 32 on the order of merit and saw off Adrian Gray, Cork's Ciaran Teehan, Dave Chisnall, Derk Telnekes and James Wade on his way to the decider.

Players Championship 8 takes place tomorrow with Dolan likely to be among seven Irish players at the tournament.
