Tournament favourite Michael Van Gerwen overcame a mid-match wobble to beat Ryan Joyce 5-1 to set-up a mouth-watering semi-final clash with Gary Anderson.
Van Gerwen's path into the semi-final looked a formality as he took the first set 3-0 and averaged 109.98.
But the Dutchman went off the boil and Joyce was close to levelling the match at 2-2 before an 11-dart leg from Van Gerwen restored his control.
The number one seed will meet old foe Gary Anderson in Sunday's semi-final after he saw of big-scoring Dave Chisnall.

Anderson is seeking a third PDC world title and led 3-1 and 4-2 before booking a fourth semi-final spot with a 5-2 win.
Earlier today Brendan Dolan's fantastic run at the PDC World Championship was ended by a ruthless Nathan Aspinall, who swept into the semi-finals with an impressive 5-1 win at Alexandra Palace.
Fermanagh man Dolan beat Benito van de Pas 4-1 on Friday to book his place in the last eight, but Aspinall proved a class a part on Saturday afternoon.
The Englishman raced into a 4-0 lead, and though Dolan pulled a setback, Aspinall closed it out with a brilliant double-double finish.
He will now face Michael Smith after the 28-year-old powered past Luke Humphries 5-1.
Smith dominated after taking the first set against the darts, and Humphries never looked like repeating Friday's quarter-final victory over reigning world champion Rob Cross.
