World Grand Prix champion Daryl Gurney will begin the defence of his title against John Henderson.
The Derry man beat Henderson in Dublin on the way to becoming the first Irish player to win a major last year.
The Scot, now ranked 27, got a measure of revenge against the world number five at the World Championship, causing a second-round shock at Alexandra Palace last December.
Carlow’s Steve Lennon, meanwhile, has been handed the toughest draw of all for his Citywest debut with world number one Michael van Gerwen his first-round opponent.
Lennon, who was beaten by MVG 8-5 in the Dutch Darts Masters final in May, is currently ranked number 44 on the order of merit.
He gave his immediate reaction to the draw to RTÉ Sport.
"I just found out five minutes ago," he said.
"There could have been easier draws but someone had to get him at some point.
"I’ve more experience against him now, this will be my fifth time to play him this year.
"The last time I played him was in the Dutch Darts Master final, that was a close game.
"It will be a lot nicer playing it in Dublin. I’m so used to the crowds in England and Germany so it’s nice to be at home for once.
"I’ll just focus on my own preparations, out and out practice on my double starts."
Last week, Willie O'Connor from Limerick beat Van Gerwen 6-1 at the Dutch Championships to claim his biggest stage win.
The event runs from Sunday 30 September to Saturday 6 October.
