Michael van Gerwen qualified for the Premier League play-offs in style after whitewashing Adrian Lewis 7-0 at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham.

The Dutchman was forced to dig deep to claim a point in his first match on night 13, fighting back from 6-3 down to draw with top-four hopeful Dave Chisnall.

But Van Gerwen found his form with a stunning display that Lewis had no answer to, the 28-year-old averaging 110.75, hitting three 180s and improving his finishing, to move three points clear of second-placed Peter Wright.

Wright confirmed his spot at the O2 on 18 May alongside Van Gerwen following a 7-3 victory over fourth-placed Phil Taylor.

Gary Anderson leapfrogged Taylor into third spot after holding off a strong Raymond van Barnveld comeback to win 7-4.

The Scot let a 4-1 lead slip as Van Barneveld drew level before winning three legs in a row to move to 16 points.

Lewis had a night to forget as he also suffered a 7-4 defeat to James Wade, who kept his slim play-off hopes alive.
