Reigning champion Scott Mitchell survived a major scare to advance to the quarter-finals of the BDO World Darts Championship in Frimley Green.
Opponent Mark McGeeney missed eight darts to win the match before Mitchell clawed his way back to clinch a 4-3 victory after a sudden-death leg.
McGeeney led 2-0 in the decisive set but was left to rue his missed opportunities as the number six seed fought back to move to the brink of victory himself.
McGeeney levelled again at 3-3 and the pair shared the next two legs to force the sudden death decider, in which Mitchell hit his second aim at double top to claim victory.
Mitchell said: "I didn't know he had eight darts to win.
"I knew it was never going to be easy. I knew he was never going to break and sometimes today it was better to be lucky than good."
Mitchell will next face Dutchman Richard Veenstra, who booked a quarter-final place on his Championship debut with a 4-0 thrashing of Leeds' Martin Atkins.
Scott Waites staged a stunning comeback as he hit back from 3-0 down to beat another Dutchman, Geert de Vos, 4-3.
In the final of the Lakeside Youth Championship, Donegal’s Jordan Boyce was edged out 3-2 in a thriller by England’s Josh Richardson.
The 16-year-old Newtowncunningham thrower had led 2-1 but Richardson reeled off the last two sets to claim the prize.
