Phil Taylor thrashed Mervyn King 17-6 to set up a final showdown with Terry Jenkins in the stanjames.com World Matchplay at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
Taylor was never headed as he continued his bid to win a 10th World Matchplay title.
King held his own for 11 legs to trail only 6-5, but Taylor won 11 of the next 12 to remain on course for the £100,000 first prize.
'It will mean a great deal if I can win this title again and I've got a fantastic chance of that,' said Taylor.
'Maybe I tried too hard at the beginning against Mervyn but I managed to pull away in the second half of the game.'
Jenkins won through to his second World Matchplay final with a 17-12 win over Ronnie Baxter, the 2007 runner-up continuing his superb return to form to hold off Baxter.
Jenkins took early leads of 6-1 and 10-5 before Baxter hit form to pull back to within two legs, only for a late flourish to send Jenkins through.
Jenkins has previously lost in six major finals, and he said: 'I think I can win this but I'm struggling with the heat on stage.
'If I keep giving myself chances to win the tournaments it will happen.'
