Jhonatan Narvaez sprinted to victory in stage four of the Giro d'Italia as Giulio Ciccone claimed the pink jersey.
The Ecuadorian UAE Team Emirates XRG rider topped the podium after crossing the line first at the end of the 138km route from Catanzaro to Cosenza, holding off Movistar’s Orluis Aular and Italian Ciccone after making his move.
However, it was Lidle-Trek’s Ciccone who went to the top of the overall classification by virtue of bonus seconds, with Narvaez’s team-mate Jan Christen, Florian Stork (Tudor Pro Cycling team) and Netcompany Ineos’ Egan Bernal all four seconds adrift.
Ireland's Darren Rafferty finished 64th with Ryan Mullen 136th. Tyrone man Rafferty is 43rd in the overall classification with Mullen 165th.
The field will reconvene on Wednesday for the 203km trek from Praia a Mare to Potenza.
