Team Ireland were unable to advance from the qualifying round of the women's team pursuit on the opening day of the UCI Track World Championships in Santiago, Chile.
The quartet of Fiona Mangan, Aoife O'Brien, Caoimhe O’Brien, and Erin Creighton finished 13th fastest in a time of four minutes 31.541 seconds.
But it was not enough to make it into the top ten who progress to the first round, with host nation Chile taking the final spot in a time that was just over four seconds quicker than Ireland's.
Italy set the fastest time in the qualifying round with 4:09.609, while Great Britain were second quickest at that stage of competition.
Later on Wednesday, Irish rider Emma Jeffers finished 12th in the women's scratch race won by the Netherlands' Lorena Wiebes.
