Down man Matthew Teggart (Wiv SunGod) has been announced as the winner of the sprints classification at the Tour of Britain after the final two stages were cancelled due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Teggart had increased his lead to 16 points over nearest challengers Benjamin Perry and Mathijs Paasschens after earning six points in intermediate sprints on Thursday.
However, on Thursday night the Tour of Britain, which was set to finish on the Isle of Wight on Sunday, confirmed it was being called off entirely.
It means Belgium's Gonzalo Serrano (Movistar) is the overall winner, with Tom Pidcock taking the points jersey, Teggart the sprints title and Paasschens is the King of the Mountains, in which Teggart finished fourth.
Jordi Meeus had emerged victorious from a bunch sprint in Mansfield today to win stage five.
The BORA–hansgrohe rider edged out Stanislaw Aniolkowski (Bingoal Pauwels Sauces WB), while Great Britain’s Tom Pidcock (INEOS Grenadiers) finished third.
Teggart's team-mate and compatriot Rory Townsend was 75th today and finished 88th overall.
