Ireland have secured their second gold medal of the 2021 Track Cycling Nations Cup in St Petersburg as Kelly Murphy won the women's pursuit race.

Murphy was part of the women’s pursuit team along with Mia Griffin, Lara Gillespie and Alice Sharpe that took gold earlier this week, and she added another winning medal as she defeated Russian Alena Ivanchenko in the final with a time of 3:30.422.

Griffin took the bronze medal in the event with her time of 3:37.075 was good enough to defeat Russian Mariia Miliaeve.

Gillespie also picked up another medal as she took home bronze in the Omnium having finished fifth in the Scratch race.

Meanwhile, Orla Walsh finished fifth in the 500m Team Trial, an event won by Colombia’s Martha Bayona Pineda.
