Australia's Caleb Ewan reeled in Sam Bennett in a sprint finish to the seventh and final stage of the UAE Tour to deny the Irish rider a third stage victory, while Slovenia's Tadej Pogacar claimed the overall race in Abu Dhabi.

Ewan (Lotto-Soudal) crossed the line in three hours 18.29 minutes, with Bennett (Deceuninck-QuickStep) clocking the same time as the winner. Germany's Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain Victorious) finished third.

Pogacar finished 35 seconds clear of defending champion Adam Yates (Ineos Grenadiers) in the general classification after the British rider suffered a spill 40km from home, with Bennett's team-mate Joao Almeida (Deceuninck-QuickStep) third overall.

Bennett was runner-up behind David Dekker (Jumbo-Visma) of the Netherlands in the points race.
