Sam Bennett missed out on three-in-a-row and had to settle for a runners-up spot following a sprint finish in Stage 3 of the Tour of Turkey.
The Carrick-on-Suir native was squeezed out over the final few yards as Fabio Jakobsen took the stage win with Britain's Mark Cavendish finishing third.
Bennett remains in the overall lead, twenty seconds clear of Austria's Felix Großschartner, as a result of time bonuses picked up over the opening three days of racing.
BORA - hansgrohe rider, Bennett, won the first two stages of this year's race.
