Irish cyclist Dan Martin capped off a highly impressive Volta a Catalunya by finishing in third position, just 17 seconds off winner Nairo Quintana.
Russia’s Alexey Tsatevich won the final stage today, a 136km circuit around Barcelona’s Montjuic area.
Martin, who won Wednesday’s stage, finished overall 10 seconds behind second place Alberto Contador of Tinkoff and ahead of BMC’s Richie Porte. Team Sky’s Chris Froome finished in eighth position.
Movistar’s Quintana took the lead off Martin at the end of the fourth stage at Port Aine.
