Sean McKenna of the Irish National Team has taken over as race leader of the Kerry Group Ras Mumhan after stage three on Easter Sunday.
McKenna also leads the Under-23 and king of the mountains categories.
The rider also finished second to Bryan McCrystal of the ASEA team at the end of a tough and demanding course over 125km, which started and finished in Waterville, in south Kerry.
One of the many highlights of the stage was the category one climb at Coom an Easpaigh after 91km. For the spectators, the view of Sceillig Bay was scintillating, but for the competitors making the ascent, it must have been a brutal ordeal.
McCrystal has risen to second in the overall standings, while leader over the first two days, Paudi O’Brien of Osborne Meats/McCarthy Cycles, has dropped down to sixth place.
