Paudi O’Brien of Osborne Meats/McCarthy Cycles carved out back to back stage wins on the second day of the Kerry Group Ras Mumhan race in Kenmare today.
In a mad dash for the finishing line, O’Brien yet again showed his explosive pace to win after a testing 145km with a start and finish in Kenmare and taking in west Cork on the route.
The Corkman outsprinted Harry Tanfield of Cheshire JLT Condor for the second day in a row with Jack Barrett of Scotland in third place.
O'Brien was delighted with the double, saying: "It is a magic feeling. This is a high quality event with a number of overseas teams who are not here for the holiday."
Ruben Doreen from the Netherlands took over as leader of the King of the Mountains Classification.
Tomorrow’s stage in south Kerry starts and finishes in Waterville.
