Ireland's Dan Martin has taken second place in the final general classification at the Tour of Beijing.
The Birmingham-born Garmin-Sharp rider was beaten to the title by Belgium's Philippe Gilbert (BMC Racing), who finished three seconds ahead of Martin in the GC.
Martin's compatriot Philip Deignan (Team Sky) was 18th in the GC, less than a minute behind the winner.
The final stage, a 117km ride from Tiananmen Square to Bird’s Nest Piazza, was won by Italy's Sacha Modolo (Lampre).
