Overall race leader Joaquim Rodriguez won the mountainous 17th stage of the Giro d'Italia today after a six-man sprint, the Spaniard's second stage win in this year's race.
Double Giro winner Ivan Basso of Italy finished second having upped the pace on the final climb, the Passo Giau, following a fast descent to Cortina d'Apezzo.
Canada's Ryder Hesjedal was third.
Rodrguez leads the overall standings from Hesjedal with Basso in third. The race finishes on Sunday in Milan.
