Ireland’s Nicolas Roche finished in 14th place overall in his first stage race of the year after another steady display on the final stage of the Volta ao Algarve.
Roche finished the final 25.8km time trial stage in 29th place with Bradley Wiggins winning the stage just ahead of Tony Martin.
Wiggins' triumph on the stage was not enough to deny his Team Sky team-mate Richie Porte the overall victory however as Porte finished in a total time of 19:02:43.
Martin was second, just 37 seconds behind Porte, with Wiggins just seven seconds further back.
Ireland's Philip Deignan claimed 34th place overall after a disappointing final stage that saw him finish 2'51" off the pace.
Ronan McLoughlin finished back in 120th overall.
