Following a strong second season with the Giant Asia team, national road race champion David McCann has signed a deal with the continental squad Colavita/Sutter Home for 2007.
The move will see the 33-year-old Belfast rider join compatriots Ciarán Power, David O’Loughlin and Mark Scanlon on the US circuit next season.
McCann had a very successful year, winning the overall classification in the Tour of Indonesia, the Irish Road Race Championship and landing two stage victories on the Tour of Thailand.
His consistency meant that he finished fourth in the UCI Asia Tour, with team-mates Ghader Mizbani and Hossein Askari taking first and second.
