Rabou seizes Rás initiative

Dutchman Thomas Rabou led home Brian Kenneally and Andy Roche at the end of a very fast and exciting opening stage of the Credit Union Rás Mumhan in Killorglin today.

All three were part of a leading group of nine riders that went clear of the main field on the only climb of the day on Sliabh Mish, fifteen miles from the finish.

Corkman Paidai O’Brien finished fourth.

Robou leads all three classifications as he was first over the Sliabh Mish climb as well.

Munster hopes of a home victory were dealt a blow when former winner Eugene Morarity, Timmy Barry, Michael Hennesy and Kealan O’Connor all came down in a 25-man pile up 20 miles from the finish.
