Lance Armstrong won stage 19 of the Tour de France today.

Jan Ullrich clocked the second fastest time and team-mate  Andreas Kloeden also of Germany came third in the 55km time-trial around Besancon.

Five time race winner Armstrong, retained the race leader's yellow Jersey and increased his overall lead to six minutes and thirty-eight seconds.

Andreas Kloeden snatched second place from Italy's Ivan Basso in the overall race classification.

The Tour concludes on Sunday with a 163 km flat stage that begins in Montereau and finishes on the Champs Elysees in central Paris where, barring a major accident, Armstrong is expected to surpass the five Tour titles of Jacques Anquetil, Bernard Hinault, Eddy Merckx and Miguel Indurain.
