Irish cyclist Mark Scanlon has signed to race for the professional first division AG2r team.
The 1998 Junior World Champion secured the contract after a highly impressive pro-trial which saw the rider, still just 21-years-old, record a string of high placings in top class professional races, while competing alongside some of the world's best cyclists.
Scanlon’s achievement is one of the most important developments in Irish cycling since the halcyon days of Sean Kelly and Stephen Roche.
