Ullrich handed six month suspension

Former Tour de France winner, Jan Ullrich, has been suspended for six months after testing positive for amphetamines in June. The disciplinary committee of the German Cycling Federation ruled that Ullrich had broken the rules and agreed on a six-month ban.

Ullrich, who rides for the Deutsche Telekom team, tested positive on June the 12th while recovering from a knee operation. He accepted the results of the test, saying he had taken pills while out the night before.
