Irish team withdraw from Lincoln GP

There was bad news for the Irish cycling team ahead of the FBD Milk Ras which gets underway on Sunday week as they have had to pull out of the Lincoln Grand Prix in England this weekend. The four-man team have withdrawn due to illness and injury. The event is the last warm up event for members of the Team Ireland squad ahead of next weeks showpiece in the National Cycling calendar.

Paul Griffin has tendonitis while David O'Loughlin and Brian Kenneally are suffering from flu and crash induced injuries. As a consequence, the team has pulled out en masse of the Lincoln event. Provided Griffin can recover from his injury, he will line up alongside Ciaran Power, Tommy Evans, Mark Scanlon and Timmy Barry in next weeks FBD Milk Ras.
