Timothy Cassidy was the best-placed of the Irish at the Men's Junior World Championship finishing 15th overall out of 164 starters in Lisbon. Cassidy finished 20 seconds behind the gold medal winner from the Ukraine while Philip Dignan finished in the main bunch a further 20 seconds behind.
The Women's Senior Road Race is underway with Susan O'Meara Ireland's only entrant.
