Danilo Di Luca of Italy won the 169km fourth stage of the Giro d'Italia from Potenza to the summit of the climb to Montevergine di Mercogliano today. Italy's Gilberto Simoni was second and Stefano Garzelli also of Italy was third. Both finished in the same time as Di Luca.
Dario Frigo of Italy is the new race leader after previous leader Rik Verbrugghe finish four minutes and 39 seconds behind the leading riders. (Reuters)
