The Italian cyclist Mario Cipollini has been thrown out of the Tour of Spain because he punched another cyclist. The sprinter became involved in a brawl with Spanish cyclist Francisco Javier Cerezo during registration for today's fifth stage of the competition. Cerezo received three stitches to his forehead but still managed to complete today's 152.3-km stage between Albacete and Xorret de Cati. Banesto rider Eladio Jimenez Sanchez won the stage but Alex Zulle continues as the overall leader.
