Ireland's second T20 international against England in Malahide has been abandoned without play due to rain.

The sides were due to take the field in front of a sold-out crowd of around 4,500 at 1.30pm but were made to wait with conditions unplayable.

And they did not improve so the decision was taken to abandon the fixture on Friday afternoon.

England lead the three-match series 1-0.

The final fixture of the series takes place on Sunday at the same venue.
