Ireland's cricketers have made a late addition to the training squad as the team departs for England where they will face the hosts in three One Day Internationals.
North West Warriors' Stuart Thompson joined the 22-strong panel ahead of Saturday's departure date as the Irish squad leaves Dublin on charter flight to Southampton for the start of a training camp.
The England & Wales Cricket Board had been due to provide four locally-based players from Hampshire Cricket to the Irish team as extra numbers for the training camp and for an intra-squad practice fixture.
But an injury to one of that quartet, coupled with an inability to source a locally-based replacement due to Covid-19 protocols, prompted Ireland to add Thompson - who has been tested for the virus and cleared to make the journey - to the travelling party.
Ireland will face England in a warm-up match on 22 July, before a final 14-man squad takes part in the first of three ODIs, starting on 30 July.
The second and third tests follow on 1 and 4 August with the Irish squad returning home on 5 August.
