Ben Duckett and Dawid Malan have been added to the England squad for the one-day international against Ireland and Twenty20 clash with Pakistan, the England and Wales Cricket board has announced.
Nottinghamshire batsman Duckett and Middlesex batsman Malan have been called up following Alex Hales' removal from the squad for an off-field incident not related to cricket.
Hampshire captain James Vince, who was already named in the party for those games, has been added to the squad to take on Pakistan in a five-match ODI series.
Hales' withdrawal has opened the door for a host of batsmen who will hope to stake their claim to replace him in the World Cup squad - with Vince seemingly in pole position.
The right-hander has shown form for Hampshire this season, including scores of 190 and 95 in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
Surrey opener Jason Roy has withdrawn from the squad to face Ireland due to a back spasm and will instead join up for the ODI series against Pakistan.
Roy has been battling injury issues at the start of the season and his fitness will be a cause for concern for the England selectors.
Paceman Mark Wood has also been pulled out of the Ireland ODI and Pakistan T20 games and will instead feature in Royal London One-Day Cup fixtures for his county Durham before rejoining the England squad ahead of that ODI series.
Kent wicket-keeper Sam Billings was named in the Ireland and Pakistan squads but was forced to withdraw after dislocating his shoulder last week. He was replaced by Surrey keeper Ben Foakes.
