Despite a career best 96 from John Mooney, Ireland lost by 8 wickets to Scotland in the final one day international in Malahide.
Ireland, however, won the three-match series 2-1 following wins on Monday and Wednesday.
There was a half an hour delay to the start with play eventually geting under way at 10.45am
Scotland won the toss and put Ireland into bat and at the end of their 50 overs Ireland had reached 241-9.
A day after his revealing interview on RTE about his struggles with depression, Mooney made his highest score in a 50-over international game.
Mooney hit 96 before he was caught at backward point in the last over trying to reach a maiden century and his innings helped Ireland past the 200 mark.
It appeared a half decent total which was probably about 30 runs too short as Scotland made short work in reply as Hamish Gardiner and Calum McLeod put on a second wicket partnership of 179, with McLeod going past his century and claiming the winning runs in the 46th over.
