4:30pm: Pathan's the man. He shows real class with the bat hitting Mooney for four in the third powerplay, along with another from Yuvraj, before wrapping up the match with another boundary in the 45th over. India win by five wickets as Ireland fall but their reputation continues to rise.

4:22pm: Pathan and Yuvraj are now picking off the runs required as defeat is almost certainly inevitable for Ireland, who have shown once again their cricketing abilities on the world stage. India were worried at one stage but now cruising on 192-5 after 33 overs.

4:10pm: India hit back with a vengance though as two huge sixes and a four from Pathan in the next five balls gives the home crowd plenty to shout about. India 183-5 after 40.

4:08pm: And Dockrell obliges! Dhoni goes for lbw. Tossed up on the middle stump Dhoni misses the line and it hits the pads, the appeal is given but Dhoni asks for a review. The replay shows him out.

2:58pm: India's pairing of Yuvraj and Dhoni take five from Stirling and three in the next two from Cusack and then Stirling before Cusack leaks eight, with Yuvraj sending a full toss to the boundary - this partnership needs to be broken soon if Ireland are to cause another upset... Dockrell is taken for four in the 38th over.

3:42pm: India are slowly chipping away at the Ireland total, who could do with a wicket at this stage. The Yuvraj and Dhoni partnership is on 58 after 33 overs as Stirling comes in for another over.

3:28pm: Rankin and White restrict Indian to just two runs in the next two overs, with Rankin taking a maiden - he's finding his distance now, although Dhoni and Yuvraj combine for seven in the 30th over to get India going again.

3.15pm: MS Dhoni comes on and immediately grabs a couple of runs, while Yuvraj Singh pulls it over midwicket for a much needed Indian boundary in the 24th over. Dhoni then finds his first boundary through extra cover at the expense of White in the 26th.

3pm: Dockrell and Stirling keep India's run rate manageable, although they are on course, but an awful mix-up sees Kohli run out as Ireland gain momentum. Stirling comes on to bowl the 24th over with India on 102-4 and Ireland certainly have a foot in the door.

2:48pm: And Tendulkar is out! Dockrell takes the wicket which will give Ireland real encouragement. Tendulkar looks to sweep but misses the line completely and the ball crashes onto his back thigh - Ireland make a huge appeal and the umpire relents. Yuvraj Singh comes on next. India now 90-3 after 20 overs.

2:40pm: Tendulkar gets into his stride adding 11 in the next four overs with Kohli assisting well with seven. Tendulkar finding the boundary at fine leg from one knee in the 17th over.

2:25pm: Stirling comes in to bowl and is immediately hit for four by Kohli. Tendulkar and Kohli combine for four more in the 12th over, while Dockrell holds them to three in the 13th. India take four from Stirling in the next with White next in to bowl for Ireland. Tendulkar takes him for two, while Kohli adds a single before the match stops for a drinks interval.

2:10pm: Tendulkar drives it through mid-on for a stylish boundary off Johnston in the ninth. Dockrell then restricts India to one in the tenth but Mooney gets India going again in the next, hitting Mooney for four and two singles, while Tendulkar adds another for 43-2.

1:55pm: Dockrell is hit for six runs in his first over, with Tendulkar timing it beautifully to send it through covers for four. Dockrell is bowling well though and is unlucky when Kohli finds a fortunate boundary in the eighth.

1.40pm: Gambhir hits Johnston for four in the next - lashing it through point. He the glances a ranking delivery for another boundary in the next. He then falls for 10 runs in the sixth over as Cusack catches following a Johnston delivery. Johnston then completes his first maiden over.

1.22pm: Johnston comes in to bowl and has immediate success taking Sehwag for five. Sehwag catches the delivery with a leading edge and it falls nicely into Johnston's hands - who celebrates with his chicken dance. Gambhir comes on. Rankin then bowls the next over for just one run to Gambhir.

1.14pm: India get straight to it as Sehwag punches Rankin's first ball through covers for a four and he adds a single straight after. Tendulkar adds another boundary, flicking it to deep square leg.

1.10pm: Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag are first in to bat for India with Rankin bowling.

Ireland 207 - all out after 47.5 overs

12:22pm: Johnston finds another couple of boundaries before Dockerell falls for three from 10. Great catch from Dhoni as the ball catches Dockerell's outside edge and Dhoni catches diving to his right to see Ireland at 201-9 after 47 overs. Rankin comes on.

12:12pm: Cusack and Johnston make three from Khan in the next but Cusack falls lbw to Yuvraj for 24 from 30 balls in the 43rd over and Dockrell comes in to bat. Four runs follow in the 44th with Khan bowling.

11:50am: Harbhajan bowls a maiden over in the 38th and Cusack makes a timely four in the 39th lofting a Yuvraj ball over midwicket. Cusack adds two more with Mooney one as Ireland get going again. However, following three in the next, Mooney falls lbw for five to Yuvraj to leave Ireland struggling on 178 for 7 after 41.4 overs. Trent Johnston comes to the crease.

11:30am: Ireland's run rate slows again with three in the 34th and one in the 35th. However, Cusack hammers a full-toss to the boundary in the next before making three from a drive to long-off two balls later. That momentum is stalled though when Porterfield is caught in the 37th by Harbhajan after making a hard-earned 75 from 104 balls. John Mooney come on.

11:12am: It seems we were as Kevin O'Brien falls for just nine runs from 13 balls, with one boundary. A big blow to Irish hopes. Yuvraj bowled and caught in the 33rd over. Alex Cusack is up next.

10:57am: White didn't last long as he is caught by Dhoni after taking five runs from 10 balls. But here comes Kevin - hope we're not expecting too much...

10:50am: Harbhajan Singh was next up to bowl for India and Ireland make eight runs from his first over with Porterfield finding the boundary. Yuvraj Singh restricted them to two in the 25th over to see Ireland at 120-2 (Porterfield 58, 76 balls, NJ O'Brien 45, 76 balls). However, their partnership came to an end in the next when O'Brien was run out after 46 from 78 balls. Andrew White is next in, with Kevin O'Brien after that in case you're wondering!

10:35am: Ireland have slowly picked up the run rate and are having a fair ammount of success from Chawla and Pathan, most notably in the 22nd over with Porterfield and O'Brien both hitting boundaries from Pathan. Porterfield going through covers, while O'Brien cut it through third man. Porterfield then hit Chawla for another through covers in the next. Chawla looks ruffled and two wides and a no ball sees Ireland up to 110-2 after 23 overs. The crowd begin to turn on their man.

10:15am: Porterfield gets in on the action when he cuts it to covers for a four from Pathan and adds two more plus one from O'Brien for seven runs in the 16th. PP Chawla comes into bowl the next and Porterfield and O'Brien pick him off for singles before Porterfield makes full use of a free ball and hits it high over square leg for a massive six.

10am: O'Brien is just about keeping the Ireland scores ticking over, taking three off Harbhajan Singh in the 11th, while he hits Patel for four in the next, whipping a short delivery through midwicket. O'Brien adds three more in the 13th as Ireland's total slowly builds.

9:43am: The runs are proving hard to come by but O'Brien did manage a boundary going through short covers in the eighth, while only two further runs followed in the ninth and tenth.

9:29am: India are bowling well and so the runs are hard to come by for Ireland at the moment - there were 15 balls without success for the Irish batsmen but Portfield swept one to fine leg for a single to get them going again in the fifth. O'Brien the guided it past the slips for two, while Porterfield has just whacked it through square leg for a boundary in the fifth.

9:14am: And now Joyce is gone as India get the perfect start. Joyce did manage to nick a four on his outside edge but was caucght by India captain Dhoni shortly after. Niall O'Brien (or 'Kevin's brother' as he will no doubt be known as in India) is next up.

9.03am: Porterfield is lucky to survive the first over thanks to a dropped catch, but Stirling isn't so as the wickets are smashed by Khan.

9am: The house is full and there's an incredible noise on a beautifully sunny day as the match gets underway.

8:42am: India have won the toss and Ireland will bat first. The wicket surface is very dry.

8:32am: From little interest to a lot - the India v Ireland match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium has sold out with India fans outside the ground searching for tickets which are no longer there. The atmosphere should be special as Ireland go in search of the perfect game against the all-star line-up of the home side.
