Kevin Pietersen has been fined for speeding after taking a loaned Lamborghini for a drive on his day off from England training.
Pietersen, man of the match for his career-best 227 in his team's second-Test win at Adelaide to go 1-0 up in the Ashes, is set to be rested for a tour fixture against Victoria in Melbourne which starts tomorrow.
He therefore did not train with his fellow tourists at the MCG, and instead chose to take a drive along the Great Ocean Road.
It is reported the 30-year-old was fined 239 Australian dollars for driving at more than 120kmh in a 100kmh zone shortly after 2.30pm local time on Thursday.
An England and Wales Cricket Board spokesman said: 'He (Pietersen) did pick up a speeding fine.'
Pietersen's former Hampshire team-mate Shane Warne, a publicity ambassador for Lamborghini, arranged for the England batsman to drive one of the cars for a day.
No disciplinary action will be taken against Pietersen by England.
